Heraldry is the system of describing coats of arms. The primary Moritani coat of arms, under this system, would be described as "white a fleur-de-lis murrey." In plain English, that would be a burgundy (also known as bordeaux, or 'Imperial purple') fleur-de-lis on a white background. The house colors, however, are black and burgundy. It is expected that all family members and retainers will wear the family crest at all times.

A secondary sigil of the burgundy fleur-de-lis on a black shield is also acceptable.
